- Goleen Gol valley in District Chitral.
A Community Managed Conservation Area or a Conservancy generally consists of a number of valleys and sub-valleys which make the home range of the animal population and where the animals are protected and managed by a number of village/valley communities. These communities form Village Conservation Committees or Valley Conservation Committees (VCCs) and also a cluster committee at the level of the whole Conservancy Area.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife Department issues permits for Markhor and Ibex trophy hunts in a conservancy subject to the condition that adequate number of trophy males are available in the animal populations in the conservancy and that the population is not adversely affected by taking the specified number of animals. The department in participation with the communities regularly monitors the animal’s population in this regard.
Small Game hunting areas: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife Department notifies areas for small game hunting/shooting in each hunting season in accordance with the wildlife population after surveys.
